Weapon Type: NANOPULSE / HIGH-PULSE Weapons F4E6jKO

A type of Phase weapon. Nanopulse weapons use the conventional combination of a deflagration or axion projectile component, coupled with a hazardous energy form. Nanopulse weapons emphasize the use of their hazardous energy component, to the detriment of their projectile component, and specialize in damaging vulnerable electronics or inorganic intelligences.

The projectile used is diminutive, radioactive, slow, and fragmentary. Sometimes Nanopulse weapons are compared to the ammunition used in the Human sport of ‘paintball’, in that it effectively always breaks apart in a less-than-lethal way on impact with even a soft surface. However, Nanopulse weapons use an additional simultaneous a proprietary form of diminutive nuclear electromagnetic pulse, which is calculated to match the trajectory and moment-of-impact of the physical projectile. This combination of radiation is particularly devastating to exposed electronics, and inorganic intelligences. This includes nano-machines, from which the weapons get their name. Discharges from these weapons will all but certainly destroy any nano-machines in their path, resulting in an affect colloquially called “iron rain”, wherein a shot from a Nanopulse weapon will drop a clump of previously unseen nano machines to the ground.

Axion weapons that follow the Nanopulse weapon philosophy are sometimes called High-Pulse weapons, and unlike other Deflagration/Axion counterparts, the Axion weapons tend to inflict the same levels of damage, but elect to use a higher spread. An additional, humorous and/or derisive, name for Nanopulse weapons are Paint or Paintball weapons. This is due to the fact that the chemical composition of their projectiles tend to cause oxidization, case hardening, patina, or dying whenever they impact a resistive surface; particularly noted against forms of heavy armor or inorganic lifeforms.

Given their beneficial qualities in high-spread situations. Just as with typical Phase wepaons, Nanopulse weapons are highly regarded when employed in shotgun form.
